Turbo-Fan Jet Engine
Turbo-Fan Jet Engine
This Demonstration shows the operation of a turbo-fan jet engine. Part of the total thrust is generated by the front fans, which produce a flow of cool, compressed air. In the center of the engine, the air passes into the gas turbine assembly, where it is further compressed and mixed with the ignited jet fuel.
The output gases after combustion drive the rear turbine assembly, which, in turn, drives the main shaft before being exhausted to the rear, which produces further thrust.
Most modern airliners use some type of turbo-fan engine.
This Demonstration combines BSplineCurve to create solid shells that are formatted by the Tube graphics primitive. It has over 130 objects, so it might run slowly on some computers.
