Tiling Polyominoes Game
Tiling Polyominoes Game
A polyomino is a collection of squares of equal size that are arranged with coincident sides. Think of this as an extension of dominoes.
In this Demonstration, you begin with a random set of polyominoes, ranging from four to eight squares. The polyominoes are randomly rotated (in 90° steps) and placed on a grid on the left so that they are adjacent and non-overlapping. That region is colored gray.
You are asked to tile the gray region by placing and rotating the polyominoes on the right. To place a polyomino from the right, click it. To rotate it once placed, click its gray outline on the right. To move it on the left grid, drag it.
The difficulty level ranges from 1 to 5, with an increasing number of polyominoes to tile in a larger grid.
When you successfully tile the puzzle, you will be given a congratulatory message along with the time (in minutes and seconds) it took you to complete the solution.
