Three-Way Switches
Three-Way Switches
Three-way switches allow a light to be turned on or off independently at two different locations—for example, at the top and bottom of a staircase. Each switch has three terminals. The circuit is arranged so that the light is on when both switches are in identical configurations and off when they are in opposite configurations.
