The Single-Server Queue
The Single-Server Queue
The single-server queue is the most fundamental queueing model. In this Demonstration, the arrival and service times for each job are set by locator points (as a marked point process). Move the locators to see how the workload and buffer content change. The arrival time and eventual departure time for each individual job can be mapped across to the workload and buffer using the checkboxes provided. The service discipline used in this example is first come, first served (FCFS).
