Tail Rotor of a Helicopter
Tail Rotor of a Helicopter
The tail rotor of a helicopter is a small rotor mounted at the end of a traditional single rotor helicopter. This Demonstration shows a simplified model as often used on radio control helicopters. When the tail rotor is working, it would generate a thrust to cancel the torque effect created by the main motor. The pitch of the tail rotor is adjustable to change the thrust generated. The pitch is controlled via a bearing that can slide on the rotation axis.
