Consider an -pointed star. Elevate the center of the star polygon above and below the plane of the star to form a star dipyramid. Make two intersecting star dipyramids by rotating a copy of the original by 90 degrees. For , such a star polyhedron is at the top of the spire of a Lutheran church in the village of Felpéc, Hungary. In the case , such a star polyhedron can be seen at the top of some of the obelisks in Rome, for instance, in the Piazza San Pietro or in the Piazza del Popolo.
