Rotation and Translation of a Rigid Body
Rotation and Translation of a Rigid Body
This example of a rigid body (a wrench) in free fall illustrates the combination of rotational motion about the center of mass and translational motion. The center of mass is the point on an object that follows the same trajectory that a point particle with the same mass would move. Move the sliders to increase the angular momentum or the initial velocity along the horizontal axis.
