A reversible reaction,
A⇌B
, takes place in an adiabatic plug-flow reactor (PFR). You can select either an exothermic (
ΔH<0
) or an endothermic (
ΔH>0
) reaction. The equilibrium conversion fraction and the intermediate fractions are calculated from the adiabatic energy balance and plotted as functions of the reactor temperature. The intersection of these two plots corresponds to the adiabatic reactor temperature
T
e
and conversion fraction at equilibrium
X
e
. You can vary the feed temperature and the feed ratio of moles inert/moles reactant.
