For each iteration, the image is reduced in size by a factor of two. The image is then replicated in each of the three corners identified by the controls. Each copy is then transformed by rotating or flipping as specified by the controls. The resulting image is then rebuilt from the three smaller copies. After multiple iterations, a fractal image is produced.
