Creating a simulated vocabulary for a fictional language—in which the words look like they go together—can be quite simple. One process is to define the consonant and vowel sounds in the language and the patterns in which they can be used. (For example, Irish distinguishes between broad and slender vowels: if the vowel before a consonant is broad, the vowel after it must be broad as well.) This Demonstration generates random words based on rules defined for two fictional languages. The pronunciation of the words is not considered.
