Pseudocolor
Pseudocolor
In digital image processing, the term pseudocolor typically refers to a coloring obtained by mapping grayscale levels to a three-dimensional color space. Since human vision can discern far more color hues and intensities than gray levels, pseudocoloring can aid the visualization and interpretation of intensity images. A common method, shown here, computes the color channels of an RGB image as sinusoidal functions of grayscale values.
