This Demonstration shows an animation of the flight of the New Horizons spacecraft's mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt. This spacecraft used a technique called gravitational assist with Jupiter on February 28, 2007. Closest approach to Pluto is scheduled for July 14, 2015.
The orbits of the planets have the following colors: Mercury: orange, Venus: brown, Earth: blue, Mars: red, Jupiter: brown, Saturn: gray, Uranus: light blue (or black, depending on the background color), Neptune: cyan, Pluto: orange.
