Fugacity from Equation of State for Water
Fugacity from Equation of State for Water
The Peng–Robinson equation of state (EOS) is used to calculate the fugacity and the fugacity coefficient for pressures and volumes that you can vary with the sliders. These values, along with temperature , are displayed on the pressure-volume (-) diagram for water. The fugacity coefficient is an indication of how much the fluid deviates from ideal-gas behavior; for an ideal gas. Isotherms are shown on the - diagram when you select "isotherms". The constant temperature region inside the phase envelope is represented by a solid green horizontal line. The areas under the curve, represented by the light blue regions, are equal when viewed on a linear scale.
