Forest Fire Simulation Using a Randomized Hexagonal Automaton
Forest Fire Simulation Using a Randomized Hexagonal Automaton
In this model, trees catch on fire. With preset chances, these trees can either stop or continue burning, and may set their neighboring trees on fire according to a cellular automaton rule. The totalistic automaton patterns are easiest to see if the probability of spreading is 1. Trees burn forever if the chance to continue burning is 1. Click the "run" box to start the model.
