Features of a Polar Zonohedron
This Demonstration explores some properties of the polar zonohedron (PZ). The intersection points of two sets of helices turning in opposite directions set out the vertices of a PZ. The PZ converges to a surface of revolution of sine as you increase the frequency . The PZ consists of helical zones. The number of levels is when the constituent rhombuses are divided into two equal triangles. The levels have equal height, which is very convenient when the PZ shape is used for architectural purposes, such as in the Swiss Re Building.
