The code contains data on the fertility, life expectancy, and population numbers for 200 countries, as well as for different parts of the world, for groups of more- and less-developed countries, and for the whole world itself, for each year in the time span from 1950 to 2010. This Demonstration not only lets you display the data for these indices for the desired countries or regions, but also track the dynamics of data changes over time.
You can select countries or country groups. By clicking the play button, you can track the tendency of yearly changes in the indices. You can also see the path of the changes in each country or region on the graph. To do so, change the view type from “bubble chart” to “path plot” and specify the required time range with the "year" slider. Mouse over a graphic object to see a tooltip with additional information about the country or the region.
