An eccentric hole is cut in a drive disk. A smaller disk with an eccentric peg is placed in the hole. By adjusting the angular position of the intermediate disk, you can vary the eccentricity of the peg relative to the drive disk. This solution is generally used for the eccentric rotation of tools with a lathe. This arrangement is also used in the structure of the Hotel Burj Al Arab in Dubai, in order to cope with the thermal expansion of trusses.
