This Demonstration shows how a child inherits specific traits from his or her parents. Some traits follow a dominant pattern of inheritance, while others follow a recessive one. It is not specified which pattern each trait follows, and your goal is to explore the way genetics works. You can decide if the alleles are dominant or recessive in order to yield specific physical traits of the baby as well as to determine if certain genes have mutated in order to pass down genetic disorders to the baby. The gender is indicated by pink or blue pacifiers.
