The Ikeda differential equation is
x
(t)=sin(x(t-τ))
, where
τ
is a continuously valued time delay. Changing it to the difference equation
x(t,n,m)=1-x(t-m,n,m)+sin(x(t-n,n,m))
gives a recurrence equation with
m
and
n
as discrete delay parameters. Plotted here are the points
{x(t,n,m),x(t-n,n,m)}
.
This Demonstration plots the orbits of this difference equation.
