Computing Excess Thermodynamic Properties Using the Wilson Model
Computing Excess Thermodynamic Properties Using the Wilson Model
Consider a binary mixture of acetone and water. The Wilson model is used to predict several dimensionless excess thermodynamic properties, such as the Gibbs free energy, , enthalpy, , entropy, , and heat capacity, .

This Demonstration plots these four thermodynamic properties for selected values of temperature. A comparison with a calculation done by Dr. Marcelo Castier at is also shown, in good agreement for all the computed excess functions.
