Charged Particle in a Uniform Magnetic Field
Charged Particle in a Uniform Magnetic Field
The path of a charged, and otherwise free, particle in a uniform magnetic field depends on the charge of the particle and the magnetic field strength. The path is shaped by the Lorentz force q, acting perpendicular to the particle's velocity. The blue cylinder is parallel to the magnetic field. The green cylinder points in the direction of the initial velocity of the particle.
