Celsius and Fahrenheit Thermometers

Degrees Celsius and Fahrenheit are the most common measures of temperature.

Let C and F represent the same temperature in each of those scales.

The relationship between the two is

F = 32 + 9/5 × C

C = 5/9 × (F - 32)

Because 9/5 is close to 10/5 = 2, these can be converted easily using

F ≈ 32 + 2 ×C

C ≈ 1/2 × (F - 32)
