Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion Map
Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion Map
This Demonstration is an attempt to draw Fuller's gnomic Dymaxion map. The Dymaxion map is a projection of the globe onto the surface of an icosahedron, which can be flattened in two dimensions. Dymaxion—extracted from the words dynamic, maximum, and tension—was a term that Fuller used often in his work.
Parameters , , and are distances of points 1, 2, and 3 from the North Pole.
