De Bruijn hex maps are binary 4×4 matrices which include all binary 2×2 matrices as contiguous submatrices. The top left diagram shows the selected variant of this kind of condensed map. The top right shows how copies of the highlighted tile in the center fill the plane. The bottom left table gives binary and hex numbers corresponding to the contiguous submatrices displayed in the bottom right array of tiles.
