When a unit step input is applied into the unterminated interconnect shown below, what is the instantaneous voltage at net tx?
Initially the entire transmission line is at 0 V; v(tx) = v(x) = v(rx) = 0 V.
When the transition 0 1 occurs net x is still 0 V by virtue of the delay line between net-tx and net-x. Therefore a simple voltage division occurs between RON and (the first) Z0.
v(tx)|t0+ = 1*(45/95) = 0.473 V
