Feedback Control in a Stirred-Tank Reactor

This Demonstration shows a simple feedback control for a stirred-tank reactor.

Details

Nomenclature:
T
r
: reactor temperature (°C)
T
sens
: temperature measured by a sensor (°C)
T
0
: temperature of inlet water (°C)
T
set
: setpoint temperature (°C)
Q
c
: proportional-integral feedback controller model
You can create disturbances in the flow rate and inlet temperature or set the "proportional control constant" slider to 0 to disconnect the controller and observe the temperature response to these changes.
