Pattern Generator with Fourier Transforms

Two-dimensional Fourier transforms make it possible to describe pictures with local frequencies. The results of transformations can be used for the study of landscapes. Here, the method is used as a pattern generator. If the basis pictures are simple and symmetric then they have strange ornamental properties.

Details

This is the second of three contributions to the Wolfram Demonstrations Project based on a collaboration with my friend Horst Helbig who died in autumn 2007. See also the Demonstration "Visualization Tools for the Design of Digits".
