Latent Heats of Fusion and Vaporization

element
sulfur
The plot shows the temperature of the element chosen as a function of the calories supplied. The slope changes at the points of fusion (melting) and vaporization (boiling). The two small plots zoom into these special points. There the horizontal parts mean that the element absorbs heat to change state without an increase in temperature.
