Python Configuration Question
Python Configuration Question
I have not been able to install Python into Mathematica following the instructions in Mathematica 14.3. The current Python installer for Windows installs both python.exe and pip at the same time. Mathematica could find everything with FindExternalEvaluators[“Python”], but it would not run.
In[]:=
FindExternalEvaluators["Python"]
Out[]=
I tried RegisterExternalEvaluator with the python.exe version 3.14 address above; that did not not change anything. Next I opened Mathematica version 14.2 and ran:
In[]:=
FindExternalEvaluators["Python"]
Out[]=
So I tried
In[]:=
ExternalEvaluate["Python","2+2"]
Out[]=
4
And it loaded python version 3.11 onto my computer, before I got the result.
In[]:=
FindExternalEvaluators["Python"]
Out[]=
In[]:=
Out[]=
Python 3.11.4
I have subsequently removed 314 from my computer.
In[]:=
FindExternalEvaluators["Python"]
Out[]=
So far I can do everything I want with python 3.11, but my question:
Is there a way to upgrade to python 3.14 and potentially remove 3.11?
Thanks.
