We present a simple example of the probability density function of a linear combination of two eigenstates for the well-known infinite quantum well (particle in a box). The spatial part of two eigenstates (A and B) and the probability density function of their linear combination are plotted. If the quantum numbers differ significantly, a slow oscillation of the probability density function occurs. We encourage students to play with the simulation to find some interesting curves.
