This Demonstration is modeled after the Koch snowflake, but extended to three dimensions. A central figure (cube or sphere) is surrounded by six figures of the same shape, but scaled down by a factor. Then the process is repeated for each of the smaller figures. The sequence of operations continues indefinitely. The resulting 3D fractal has an infinite surface area but a finite volume.
