Relative Motion of Two Cars
Relative Motion of Two Cars
Two cars move toward each other at different speeds. Both drivers see that the other car moves with a speed equivalent to the sum of the individual speeds. The three points of view are from the side of the road, from the blue car as if it were at rest, and from the red car as if it were at rest. This is an example of relative motion.
