This Demonstration shows how Mathematica can construct a simple, but quite useful, viewing window for time series. The time series is white noise, but in practice, one could view any regularly spaced series.

Details

You can control the
x
and
y
scaling of the time series. The foreground and background colors for the viewer are selectable from color selector controls. Once set, you can pan through the time series by using the expanded controls for
t
0
.
The viewer is very general, and you can apply it to any time series of interest. The plot, when viewed statically, can be used in familiar ways; for instance, the coordinates of individual points can be found by using the "Get Coordinates" tool under Graphics > Drawing Tools.
