In[]:=
base="https://cdn.star.nesdis.noaa.gov/FLOATER/data/AL092021/GEOCOLOR/";
Import the main page as an XML object for the purpose of extracting the desired hyperlinks:
In[]:=
xml=Import[base,"XMLObject"];
Select hyperlinks of images that match a certain pattern (2000x2000 jpg images):
In[]:=
files=Select[Cases[xml,XMLElement["a",{_,"href"href_},_]:>href,∞],StringContainsQ["_GOES16-ABI-FL-GEOCOLOR-AL092021-2000x2000.jpg"]]
Create a working directory to store images:
CreateDirectory["C:\\Users\\arnou\\ida-images"]
Out[]=
C:\Users\arnou\ida-images
Download the images to the local hard drive:
In[]:=
downloads=URLDownload[URLBuild[{base,#}],FileNameJoin[{"C:\\Users\\arnou\\ida-images",#}]]&/@files;
Check the number of downloaded images:
Length[downloads]
Out[]=
866
Generate a video from the images:
video=SlideShowVideo[downloads0.3]
