Spherical Plain Bearing
Spherical Plain Bearing
A shaft is inserted in a truncated sphere, which is held by a split bearing cap. The cap has a spherical hollow portion that forms a spherical plain bearing. The word "plain" means that it has no other rolling components. This kind of bearing lets the shaft rotate relatively freely.
