n-Player Chessboards
n-Player Chessboards
This Demonstration illustrates a simple algorithm for creating -player chessboards with sides. The only additional rules needed may be these: "When is even (and greater than 2), opposite players partner. Turns sequence clockwise. Center point diagonals always turn right". Henry Massalin once said that the three-player game results in some rather cut-throat temporary liaisons. The four-player game, per the rules above, offers wonderful opportunity for teamwork and out-of-the-blue moves. The linearized boards keep the center point squares from growing too large, at the price of becoming elongated. Concerning the single-player game board, it is still unclear how to define accomplishment. Suggestions are invited.
