A net is a set of polygons that can be folded to become the faces of a polyhedron. A multiple net is a set of polygons that can be folded to cover the faces of a polyhedron multiple times.
This Demonstration shows multiple nets of an octahedron. The "new net" button generates a random net with many overlapping faces. The "special net" corresponds to rolling an octahedron three times.
