In this notebook i am trying to uncover if the sar-cov-2 is having a major impact in deceases in Swedish. I am using the same database previously used by Jan Brugard (https://community.wolfram.com/groups/-/m/t/1974412).
Death by day
Death by day
First, i would like to see how the deceased are distributed since 2015. I am excluding the day with zero deaths
deathByDay=Import[FileNameJoin[{NotebookDirectory[],"2020-05-08---preliminar-statistik-over-doda-inkl-eng.xlsx"}],{"XLSX","Data",2}];(*NumberofdeathsreportedtoStatisticsSweden,perdayfor2015-20201(entirecountry)*)

This graph shows the distribution of the death count from 2015 to 2020. In all cases, there is a very marked distribution of deaths, with some peaks in all years except 2020. This is because all the data is not available. in 2020, only until May 6. In 2020 there is a more dispersed trend.

Now, this is showing the whole year, except for 2020. So this is how it looks if we show the deceased until may 6 every year.

This figure shows a comparison between men and women deceased in 2019. The number in the upper part is the p-value of the comparison, “No test” means that the LocationEquivalenceTest did not find a valid test to compare the two vectors, like shown up here. There are significant variations in the age rank: 65-79 and 80-89

Deaths
Deaths
The number of deaths this year compared to last year does not conclusively indicate that COVID 19 will be having an impact on mortality. However, in general the models do not take into account (because they cannot) the effect of quarantine on health. In principle, the quarantine was established, not to avoid deaths, but so that the deaths occur gradually, taking into account that the virus has a Ro of 3, higher than influensa, it is probable that the number of infected in the world is several orders of magnitude greater than the current one. By the time the quarantine started, there were already more than 30 million infected with influensa, only in the USA (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/preliminary-in-season-estimates.htm).
Second, quarantine keeps the organism isolated from the pathogens it is usually subjected to, which can lead to a disproportionate increase in other diseases, this is known as the hygienist hypothesis, that is, the progressive weakening of the immune system due to the impossibility of this coming into contact with pathogens. Additionally, the lack of sun exposure decreases the synthesis of vitamin D, essential for the functioning of the immune system.
As a third element, we must talk about stress caused by confinement, job uncertainty and other sources of stress. Neurohormonal reactions are known to be powerful epigenerators, associated with the development of “physical and mental” illnesses.
Thus, countries with and without quarantine should have the same number of deaths from the disease, but at different rates. However, the death rate in Sweden is not necessarily higher than the countries that used quarantine. The claim that the Swedish experiment failed is a baseless and base claim on models that are unable to contemplate the settler of social and biological events involved.
