Anamorphic prisms are wedge-shaped prism elements that are commonly used to correct the asymmetric beam shape of a laser diode from elliptical to nearly circular in shape. The prisms can expand or contract the beam in one direction without any changes in the other direction. By adjusting the angles among the incident beam and two prisms, you can change the shape of the beam.
